Ilka Minor

Ilka Minor has been a relatively unknown figure in Rallying, up until he teamed up with Mafred Stohl in 1998. Minor was born on 30th April 1975, in Austria. He came up through the various levels of Rallying till in 1998, he met up with another new-comer, Manfred Stohl.

The duo have, since then, been together as they left behind the competition in a variety of privateer cars. Their combination was almost telepathic and today, they are rated as one of the most powerful and solid driving – co-driver partnerships in the World Rally Championships.

In 2005, while participating with one of their many Privateer racing teams, they achieved a ninth place finish to the season in the overall standings. They were the highest ranked non-works team for the season.

In 2006, they topped their performance, in fact, almost ended up on the final podium. They drove a Peugeot 309 to fourth place in the final season standings. That made them, again, the highest placed privateer outfit in the series.

Come 2008, the pair will be together again as they now move into the newly created OMV Kronos Citroen Total World Rally Team. They will be driving a Citroen Xsara, a car they are familiar with from their privateer days. With the backing of a solid team behind them, results might just go up another notch this season.
