Fairuz Fauzy is the senior reserve driver for A1 Team Malaysia. A regular campaigner in the different forms of motorsport in Asia as well as in Europe, Fairuz had a young start.

At the age of 8, Fairuz was competing in Kart competitions across Malaysia and piled up a number of titles at the national and international levels. In 2000, he came to Europe and drove in the Formula Ford series as well as the Formula Renault series before becoming a regular fixture in the British Formula 3 Championships.

In 2002, Fairuz took part in the National Class of the British Formula 3 series but in 2003 and 2004, he moved up to the Championship class. In the National Class series, Fairuz grabbed 5 podium finishes while in the British Formula 3 Championship version, he scored a 2nd place finish in 2004.

Fairuz was in GP2 in 2005 & 2006 and also got a call up as a test driver for the Spyker Formula One team in 2007. After Alex Yoong, Fairuz is the most experienced driver to come out of his country and is stated to be the finest driver amongst his peers.
