Terry Labonte
Terrance Lee Labonte began racing at the age of seven, but made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 1978. Labonte, the "Ironman" of the NASCAR Cup Series, holds the record for the longest time between NASCAR Cup Series championships, which were in 1984 and the other in 1996. During both his championship seasons, Labonte only had 2 wins, but clinched 24 top-10 finished each time.
With a record number of Cup starts, numbered at 655, Labonte managed 22 winc and 27 pole positions. Since his very first full season on the circuit in 1979, Labonte had qualified for every Cup event. His talent and skill were visible to all, when on his first Cup start at the 1978 Southern 500, at Darlington Raceway, he finished an impressive fourth. Terry and brother Bobby Labonte are the only brothers who have won the Cup Series championships, with Bobby Labonte being the 2000 winner.
