14 Fords to run in Germany

Duval’s Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Rally Team will be just one of the 14 Ford Focus RS WRCs that will be running in the mid-August event. The 14 Fords will have another 11 World rally cars running alongside in what is said to be one of the most popular rallies on the World Rally Championship circuit.

Peter van Merksteijn’s 2007-specification Ford will also be a part of 86 member strong entry list, making the Dutchman the first privateer to be part of the rally in such an advanced car. Peter will be using this weekend’s Eifel Rally as a time to get acquainted to his new race car. Fellow Ford driver, Gareth Jones will also be doing something on the same lines as he takes out his Ford Focus RS WRC 05 for a rally date. Jones is also on the German event’s entry list.

Aaron Burkart and Hans Weijs will also be contesting in the Eifel Rally. The Junior World Rally Championship drivers will be on the lookout for the kind of pace that Junior World Rally Championship leader Sebastien Ogier is capable of. The Citroen-aided driver will also be looking to get some valuable practice on Asphalt

Mads Ostberg is another driver who will be at Germany for the Asphalt stage. The Norwegian will be in his Subaru after his debut didn’t go too well. He smashed his Impreza WRC into a hinkelstein during testing in the Baumholder region earlier this month.
