Westwood sailed through the tournament with a 4-under 68 during the final round held at the Gary Player Country Club. He reached a total of 271, and chipped in right from the fringe of the 18th and reached a rather memorable finish.

Westwood said, “It was the stuff that dreams are made of, I guess… I didn’t want to get ahead of myself but I knew I was playing well. It was a professional round I thought. Recently, I really felt there was a good week coming.”

The memorable shot came in the form of a pitch and run from approximately 40 yards and landed in the cup on the final hole. It was the perfect ending right in front of a full-house gallery.

During the tournament, Westwood enjoyed one bogey and five birdies during the 17th, which allowed him to secure his place at the No. 1 spot for the rest of the 2010 season.

Tim Clark of South Africa came second after he shot a 1-under 71. His performance was relatively better than Miguel Angel Jimenez and Retief Goosen.

Westwood led the 12-player pack since the start on Friday and held the lead until the final day. The win awarded him with his very first Nedbank career title after trying seven times in the past. He won $1.25 million in prizes, marking his second victory during the year, and the final event of the whole season.
