While playing at the LPGA Championship, Cristie Kerr was able to shot a 4-under 68, reaching a share of the first-round lead of the tournament together with Seon Hwa Lee and Stacy Lewis.
Kerr relied a lot on her clutch putting, and shot a bogey as well as five birdies while playing at the Locust Hill Country Club course. Two weeks ago, she claimed her 13th LPGA Tour title when she was victorious at the LPGA State Farm Classic.
Other players Mika Miyazato, Inbee Park, and Lindsey Wright came in ready with their opening 69s during the round, but was troubled with heavy downpour and winds which somewhat delayed their play.
Well known player, Juli Inkster, landed on a tie for 11th place. The 31-time career champion was able to shoot a 71, and was also celebrating her 50th birthday that day.
The LPGA Championship is the second major championship of the LPGA Tour for the said season.
