The British Open will hold its 150th tournament in St. Andrews in a couple of weeks, but before Woods can start preparing his clubs for the said match, he has been invited to compete, along with 28 other competitors, on four holes at Old Course on July 14. During the match, Woods is expected to face previous champions such as Seve Ballesteros a day before the start of the British Open.

During the said match, the players are divided into seven teams that has four players each on the first, second holes as well as the 17th and 18th holes.

Among the older past champions, Kel Nagle is noted to be the oldest champion alive at 89 years of age. Although still surviving, Nagle will not be participating in the match together with other known players. In fact, golfing legend Jack Nicklaus and other players such as Johnny Miller and Nick Price have also opted to skip the match.

The event also proves to be some kind of warm-up event that the players who will be participating in this year’s British Open will be able to enjoy. Woods, on the other hand, looks to earn another title to his name in order to shake off recent scrutiny of his career in golf.
