After being the focus of mostly personal news, Tiger Woods now becomes a focus due to his performance at Quail Hollow Championship.
In a shocking turn of events, Woods missed the cut at the Quail Hollow Championship on Friday, which marks his fifth time missing a cut in his whole career.
During the event, Woods shot a 79, which is his worst score ever made in America as a professional golfer, this is also the second highest score that he has in his career. Woods was able to match his highest score along the nine holes with a 43 at the back nine, and that was basically three solid pars on the closing stretch. The overall score of 153 in his 36-holes was his highest in all his years playing professional golf.
Various reasons have been suggested, including rusting from the game or being plagued by personal problems. “Whatever it was, it wasn’t good enough,” said Woods regarding his performance.
Woods was able to miss the cut by a great 8 shots, and all the while he was approximately 17 shots behind Billy Mayfair who led the group. As a result, Woods made an early return back to Florida, where further news and speculation regarding his various personal issues have done more than just to damage his image.
