Tiger Woods has led a charmed life. Like many other celebrities and people of notoriety, that was not good enough. He allegedly had extra-marital affairs. That does not surprise some people because our society is one where we hear that 50% of all marriages end in divorce. Although that is not 100% accurate, it is reasonably close to being correct, especially if current trends continue. Tiger Woods now has a recent tragic time-line. Through his alleged actions and self-admitted “transgressions”, the public record shows a lamentable and hapless time-line associated with Tiger Woods.
According to www.infidelityfacts.com/infidelity-statistics.html, the percentage of men that admit to cheating on their partner is 57%. The percentage of men who say that they would have an affair if they knew that they would not be caught is 74%. Lastly, the percentage of marriages that survive after an admitted or discovered is only 31%. We will never know for sure what circumstances led to this miserable state of affairs surrounding Tiger Woods, but the public record shows many abject events that have taken place recently for Woods.
FRIDAY 11-27-09…At approximately 2:25am, Tiger Woods smashed his Cadillac SUV into a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree while driving out from his driveway. He is taken by an ambulance Health Central hospital. Later, it is revealed that Woods’ wife, Elin, used a golf club to smash the back window to get Woods out of his SUV and that he had sustained some cuts and bleeding. Woods would not talk to police that day and scheduled a meeting with them for the next day.
SATURDAY 11-28-09…Tiger cancels the meeting with police and says that he will meet with them on Sunday.
SUNDAY 11-29-09…Woods now has an attorney that states that there will be no meeting with the police and just gives them what the law requires, his driver’s license and insurance information. Woods states on his website that he is embarrassed by the incident but wishes to handle the matter in private and asks that we respect his wishes for privacy. However, a story in the National Enquirer that was out several days prior to the accident alludes to woods having had an affair with a New York nightclub promoter. She denies having had any affair with woods.
MONDAY 11-30-09…Woods withdraws from his charity golf tournament, the Chevron World Challenge and cancels a Tuesday press conference.
TUESDAY 12-01-09…Woods receives a citation for careless driving, and receives a $164 fine and 4 points on his driver’s license. The Florida Highway Patrol considers the investigation closed.
WEDNESDAY 12-02-09…US Weekly magazine reports that another woman, Jaimee Grubbs admits to having had a 31-month affair with Woods and has text messages and a voicemail to prove it. The FHP issued in its final report, findings that say, the SUV was traveling at a rate of 30mph and had crossed over a curb, onto a grass median and into a row of hedges before swerving into a hydrant and crashing into a tree
THURSDAY 12-03-09…Woods posts a statement on his website, stating, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart.” Rachel Uchitel originally denied any affair with Woods, schedules a press conference and is widely expected to admit an affair with Woods. The press conference is canceled and stories run rampant that Woods’ camp had paid her off.
There also are reports by the Web site The Daily Beast that Tiger and Elin Woods are negotiating her prenuptial agreement to give her up to an additional $55 million.. They are also undergoing marriage counseling, it said.
Disclosures that neighbors found him lying shoeless and snoring on the street after he plowed his SUV into a fire hydrant and tree come out.
TUESDAY 12-08 09… Elin’s mother, Barbro Holmberg, is rushed from Woods Florida mansion to the same hospital Woods was taken to the day of his accident, with stomach pain. She is later released.
The tale is far from over. There are other reports alleging even more affairs with other women. Celebrity website TMZ said that Woods wife gave the paramedics bottles of Vicodin and Ambien, both pain killing meds. Look out below if drug addiction rumors gain any muscle. However, it is important to remember that these reports are only speculation right now. What we do know is that there is no longer the same aura existing that once surrounded Tiger Woods. How sad. Life, is indeed, a strange place.
