Anthony Kim has announced that he would not be playing at the Dubai World Championship, favoring to spend some time with his parents instead. Kim had earlier reached the final of the World Match Play championship in Spain a week before, where he lost to Ross Fisher, moving up to 39th place in the rankings after his defeat.anthony kim

‘I’m not going,” Kim said, further adding, “I need the week off. My parents want to see their boy.” Kim announced this while playing at the practice range at the HSBC championships.

The frenetic pace of activities could also be one reason why Kim wants to slow down. He has been seen jet setting around the world for games, first flying off to Malaysia and Australia in February before flying to Arizona for the World Golf Championships. More recent games required the American golfer to fly to Spain for the World Match Play and he is expected to make it to the Kiwi Challenge Exhibition in New Zealand.

Kim himself admitted that he needed a better grip on his schedule.

“I was all over the place this year. I didn’t do a good job of scheduling. Scheduling is half your job as a pro. I learned a lot this year.”

Kim was one of the half-dozen US based golfers who joined the European Tour on their way to the 7.5 million money prize when the race ends in Dubai.
