This year’s HSBC Championship tournament on November 5 to 8 at the Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai will bring together the leading golfers all over the world.>
Among the competitors of the event includes Yang Yong-en of Korea and the World’s No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods. Other big names in golf who will be participating are defending winner Sergio Garcia of Spain, Padraig Harrington of Ireland and world No. 2 Phil Mickelson. This tournament is also considered to be a rematch between Yang and Woods, who came face to face with each other at the 91st PGA Championship finals on August 16, 2009, where Yang defeated his playing partner Woods by making three shots better in the final round. This was Yang’s first major championship title, a first for an Asian golfer.
Yang’s victory at the HSBC Championship over three years ago, in 2006 provided him with the skills needed to defeat Woods at the 2009 PGA Championship. It also gave him the boost to pursue more challenging tournaments and win them. One of which was his victory over at the Honda Classic tournament last March 8, 2009 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida where he defeated American John Rollins by 1 shot.
