Tiger Woods made a commitment to play his first tournament after a break. The event he is about to play is the Wachovia Championship on Friday. Though he won the 2007 tournament, Woods said that he wasn’t able to take part of the games because of he was recovering from his knee surgeries.
He has been out from the mid-April when his final-day charge came at a short notice at the Augusta National and where he completed a tie for the sixth. The coming tournament will serve as a warm-up for Woods since the Players Championship is a week later.
Woods’ playing in the Quail Hollow Championship on Thursday will be considered as one of the greatest fields on the PGA Tour having 10 out of the 14 best golfers in the whole world such as Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Vijay Singh, defending champion Anthony Kim, Jim Furyk and Masters champion Angel Cabrera.
The tournament’s director, Kym Hougham is glad to have Tiger Woods around and to see him play again along with the other best golfers. They expect his fans to overcrowd and get more tickets for the coming event.
Although many are affected by today’s recession, tickets for the game has never been available for all fans ahead of the tournament in the Charlotte area. It is being determined that having the worlds No.1 golfer will make the global crisis bleak.
Wood’s will play the tournament for the fourth time within seven years, but wasn’t able to play in 2006 because of his father’s death.
