Mario Williams is a retired professional football player originally from North Carolina. He spent eleven years in the National Football League as a Defensive End, primarily representing the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills. Throughout his career, he established himself as a dominant pass rusher, earning four Pro Bowl selections and twice being named First-team All-Pro.

Following graduation, Williams committed to play for North Carolina State University from 2003 to 2005. During his time with the Wolfpack, he earned Third-team All-American honors in 2005 and was a two-time First-team All-ACC selection.
His jersey No. 9 was later officially honored by the university.
Professional Career
He was selected by the Houston Texans during the 2006 NFL Draft. They picked him in round 1, and he was the 1st overall selection.During his professional career, he became a relentless force on the defensive line, earning the moniker "Wario Williams" from fans for his bruising play style. After six productive seasons in Houston, he signed a landmark contract with the Buffalo Bills, where he continued to play at an elite level. He concluded his career playing one final season alongside the Miami Dolphins in 2016.
Off the field, Williams was known for his philanthropy. He notably donated a fleet of vehicles to the Houston Police Department and debuted a honey-toasted oats cereal called "MariO's," with proceeds supporting a Buffalo charity for children with cancer.
