Laurent Robinson, who played his college football at Illinois State, is a wide receiver for the St. Louis Rams team. The Falcons made him the 75th overall pick in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He was drafted by the team of the Atlanta Falcons.
While at Illinois State, he caught 192 balls for 3,007 yards and 29 touchdowns. In 2005, Robinson made 86 receptions for 1,465 yards and 12 touchdowns. That season, he averaged 17.0 YPC.
In his first season, Robinson played in 15 regular-season games. He made 37 catches for 437 yards and one score. The wideout fumbled once last season, losing the ball. He averaged 11.8 YPC and made 14 first downs.
Standing six-foot-two and weighing 194 pounds, Robinson shows good size and also possesses speed and quickness. When pressed, he has a tough time breaking away, but unhampered, the receiver shows fine acceleration. Although he offers crisp cuts and a fine burst, he lacks hand skills that would help him break out more quickly. Robinson does a good job working his way back to the ball, leaping and extending to make tough catches. His route running is good. This young wideout is strong, learns quickly and shows fine speed. He has the potential to be a true number one receiver.
