Wide receiver Michael Gerard Jenkins, who was the 29th pick out of Ohio State in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft, plays for the Atlanta Falcons.

Jenkins played for Ohio State from 2000-2003. He caught 161 passes for 2,898 yards and 16 touchdowns. Jenkins' 161 catches ranked him third in school history and his catching yards garnered him first-place in that area.

In four professional seasons, Jenkins has missed just three games, playing in 61. He’s caught 135 passes for 1,595 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has never fumbled. Jenkins has made a total of 85 first down catches. As of 2009, he has made 197 receptions of 2,524 yards with 17 touchdowns.

The wideout stands six-foot-four and weighs in at 220 pounds, making him an ideal size for a NFL receiver. Possessing fine athletic ability and good speed. Jenkins is effective in the slot in multiple sets. His middle game is very good, but he lacks that keen burst of speed that allows players to gain separation when going long. His awareness and ability to adjust to a quarterback's changing situation are good, but his catching is inconsistent as he can lose concentration.

Jenkins runs fine shallow crossing routes and uses his frame effectively in these situations. His extension is okay but not exceptional, while his ability to catch the ball against his frame is quite good. When catching the ball in stride, Jenkins ably picks up yards, but his stop-and-start skills are weak. Although considered to be one of Atlanta's top receivers, he's more of a three than two guy.
