On November 26, it was reported that New England Patriots’ star quarterback Tom Brady was doing well in his recovery efforts after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL and MCL. Today, about a month later, news is out that Brady is not as far along as he should be. That is not good news for the New England Patriots.new england s tom brady

It was Brady himself who said in a television interview about a month ago that he was “doing well” in his recovery efforts. Today, NBCSports.com reported that he had fallen behind. Along with the operations on his ligaments, Brady had to undergo more procedures after his knee became infected.

The quarterback underwent his original surgery on October 6 after he was injured on the opening drive of the first game of the season. The problem for Brady now is a buildup of scar tissue from the infection. He’s been unable to fully work at bringing his leg back partly due to problems related to the scar tissue that’s built up from the operation designed to rid him of the infection. It is reported that the repaired ligaments are loose and hampering his efforts.

Since Brady went down, backup quarterback Matt Cassel has kept the team in the playoff picture, leading them to a 10- 5 record. There’s been talk of trying to deal Cassel, who has played exceptionally well this season, in 2009 once Brady comes back.

The Patriots play their final regular season game today in an exceptionally windy Buffalo, New York. In order to make the playoffs, the Pats must beat the Bills and either the New York Jets have to beat the Miami Dolphins or the Jacksonville Jaguars must be victorious over the Baltimore Ravens.
