Arizona Looks For Real

The Arizona Cardinals are 5- 3 and atop the NFC West.

The Arizona Cardinals are 5- 3 and atop the NFC West. The other three division clubs are tied for second at 2- 6. Kurt Warner Will the Cards, who are led by veteran quarterback and Super Bowl winner Kurt Warner>, be in the playoffs this year?

Let’s consider the final eight games of the season. The Cardinals play the Seattle Seahawks twice. They should beat them both times. They also meet the San Francisco 49ers. This is another contest that Arizona should win. A victory over the Minnesota Vikings is not certain, but it is possible. The St. Louis Rams should also be a mark in the W-column. Those are five games that they can win.

They meet the New York Giants in Arizona. That will be an extremely tough contest to win but being home could help. The following week they travel to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. That is another difficult match-up. A few weeks later, the Cards go to Massachusetts to play the New England Patriots. That’s a late game in December. It will take a lot for the Cardinals to take that one.

Let’s say that Arizona goes 5- 3 in the second half, making them 10- 5 on the season. Is that good enough for the Cardinals to finally make a post-season appearance? The answer is “yes.”

The key will be, as it has been this season, Kurt Warner. If he stays healthy, this team will be playoff bound.
