Mistley Cricket Club is over 125 year’s old club having its home ground in Essex. The pitch offers great challenge for the players to practice, play and to exercise. The club has four adult teams with the First XI that plays in Division one of the Marshall Hatchick two counties championship.
The team also has a second team which plays in division four of the similar completion and a third team in division C, both second and third teams finishing as runners up in their respective divisions in 2009. Other than that, the Mistley Cricket Club competes in the PDQ North Essex Premier League. The club runs a junior section too with over 110 boys and girls receiving coaching in regular basis. The coaching is provided by 4 level 2 ECB coaches and 6 ECB level 1 coaches. There are also matches held in disability days in the last two cricket week festivals.
Major Achievements
It was in 2007 that the team was identified by the Essex County Cricket Board as a ‘Focus Club’, prior to which the team achieved ‘Clubmark’ status in 2006. By September 2009, the club was re-accredited to Clubmark.
In 2009, the team was crowned the champions for the first time in their team history.
