The Heysham Cricket Clubimage:Heysham Cricket Club|Heysham Cricket Club is known as one of the most successful village clubs where one can play cricket around Morecambe Bay. From 1922 to 1977, the club had a great time. By 1979, they suffered their biggest loss in the local cricket annuals. In 1888, there were many games played by this club though there are no records of these games. Late 1840s, it was shown that the club was run by Squire Knowlys of Heysham Towers, but this cannot be taken as the formation of the Heysham Cricket Club.

In 1848-49, Squire T. J. Knowlyc of Heysham Towers ran a County House Cricket team. There was no reference to any cricket club in any of the records prior to 1887. It was in 1939, when Heysham shocked the Lancaster and District Cricket League, when they actually refused to join the Westmorland cricket league. Heyham 2nds were in division two of the Lancaster and District Cricket league and the 2sts won the Westmorland cricket league second division title. In 1940, the league again gave it a try and played friendly matches between Lancaster and Westmorland irrespective of the war.

In 1941, the Westmorland Cricket league collapsed and the league reduced to one division when Heysham Cricket club rejoined. In 1946, this club returned to the Westmorland Cricket League and tied with Kendal A for the championship. By 1947, they won their first Westmorland league championship.
T. Smith is the president of the club with D Cunningham being the Chairman of the club. D Atkinson is the Vice Chairman and B Fletcher is the secretary of the club.
