The Dartford Cricket Club is known as one of the oldest cricket clubs in England. The origin of this club goes back to the early 18th century or perhaps even prior to that period. The players of the club were reckoned by Robert Harley, the Earl of Oxford who wrote in his diary saying that it is to lay claim to the greatest excellence among English cricketers in 1723. This club played in many big matches against London and by 1756 they played in a tri-series against the Hambledon Club, the rising power team.

This club produced a wealth of popular players in the 18th century which included the earliest famous known players of cricket like William Bedle. Others included William Hodsoll, John Frame, John Bell and Ned Wenman. The home venue of this club is Dartford Brent.

This club was honored with Focus Club and Club mark status with active involvement in the community. This way, the club supports the work of the Dartford Schools Sport Partnership. It also offers equal chance for all and supports cricket on many levels in local primary and secondary schools. They also support the district cricket for Dartford and Gravesham along with County level for Kent. This club supports the development of women’s and disabled cricket with an eager interest to offer cricket opportunities for all the community.

Former England player, Graham Dilley grew up playing this sport at Dartford along with Trevor Ward and Derek Ufton of Kent. The club offers amazing coaching amenities for young people aged seven and above. Moreover, there is amazing fixture list for colts at all age levels with strong teams from under 9s to under 17s.
