The Fairford Cricket Clubimage:Fairford Cricket Club|Fairford Cricket Club is known to be one of the oldest cricket clubs in the country which has been created during the 1800s. Situated at Park Street, this club has two active senior teams that assemble each Saturday with occasional XI players playing on Sundays.
The Saturday side competes in the Gloucester County Cricket League and for Twenty20 cricket; the club enters their team into the Cotswold District Cricket Association league. In seasons, there are practice nights on Tuesdays for men and youth players aged from 14 to 16, during which time, the club uses the bowling machine, artificial wickets and mobile nets.
The club even hosts social events with reasonable priced bar at the club house, with many events like quiz, barbeques and 10 pin bowling nights held now and then. There is also annual dinner where there is season’s high flyers presentation. Apart from this, one can get to attend a six side competition per year, with local clubs and pubs supported with families and the teams having great time together.
