Reading Cricket club

Reading Cricket club is a club based in Berkshire and is a part of the Reading Cricket and Hockey Club. It is one of the premier clubs of UK. The club has a complete facility including meeting rooms, a fully licensed bar and an excellent Function room. The facilities are accessible to all the members and plays teams in all Men’s, Women’s and Colt’s leagues. The club plays cricket through the months of May to September. In addition to this the club has two teams that play in the Three Counties Sunday League.

The clubs plays six Men’s teams, four playing as Saturday Men’s Team and two playing in the Sunday Men’s league. One Sunday’s women’s league team and five Junior teams of Sides comprising of U17, U15, U13, U11 and U9.

The Reading Club is an affiliated member of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) by the Berkshire Cricket Board. The club ensures that all youngsters have a good playing experience of cricket in the club. In this regard the club is following the ECB’s ‘Safe Hands - Welfare of Young People in Cricket Policy’. The club follows all the guidelines drafted by the ECB for safe playing.

Housego and Barr of the Men’s 1st XI have been in very good form in the current season with a total of 242 and 139 runs respectively. In the bowling department Hartley have taken 8 wickets in four innings. In the juniors department the under 9 teams are playing very good cricket along with the other junior teams. The eligible junior players have showed good commitment to join the senior teams by playing consistently.
