The Biman Bangladesh Airlines cricket team was actually a first class cricket team in Bangladesh. This team played in their only inaugural match in 2000-01 in the domestic season. The team won both the two major domestic trophies that season. The entire team was sponsored by the Biman Bangladesh Airlines, which is the government owned airliner of Bangladesh. This club played their home games at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground which is situated in Savar. Also, this airline plays amid the 12 clubs in the Dhaka Metropolis Premier League, which is not given the status of first class. Other than that, Biman even sponsors another team in the Corporate Cricket League.
During the 2000-01 season, the team had signed Imran Farhat, an 18 year old Pakistan opening batsman. Farhat scored 216 at the first match of the 2000-01 season, and ended up with most of the runs in the Bangladeshi first class cricket in the season. But, another player, Habibul Bashar scored the highest first class score for this team with 224 runs to his credit.
The Biman Bangladesh Airlines Cricket Team won the National Cricket League during the 2000-01 season. The same season, the team won the One Day Cricket League for once.
