Kerala Cricket Team

The state of Kerala in India is represented by the Kerala Cricket team. This team is a member of the Plate Group of the Ranji Trophy which is the premier first class cricket tournament in India. Players of this team have not been able to reach the national team. However, 2 cricketers, Tinu Yohannan and Shanthakumaran Sreesanth played impressively at the national level.

In the current squad, Sony Cheruvathur is the captain, V. A. Jagadeesh is the vice captain, Vinan Nair is the wicket keeper and the other players are K.J. Rakesh, P. Prasanth, S. Aneesh, Prasanth Chandran, Tinu Yohannan, Raiphi Gomez, Sreekumar Nair, Robert Fernandes, Rohan Prem, Sambasiva Sarma, Sebastian Antony and Prasanth Parameshwaran. The roles played by these players are as follows – Vinan Nair is also a right handed batsman. Tinu Yohannan is a right handed batsman. Sony Cheruvathur is a right arm medium pace bowler and a right handed batsman. Prasanth Parameswaran is a right handed batsman as well as a right arm medium pace bowler. Melaparampil Antony Sebastian is a left handed batsman. Krishna Sarma Sambasiva Sarma is a left handed batsman as well as a left arm medium pace bowler. Vasudevan Arundhadi Jagadeesh is a right arm medium pace bowler and a right handed batsman. Sreekumar Rajagopalan Nair is a left handed batsman and a slow left arm orthodox bowler.
