Michael Brown
Michael James Brown is a professional English cricketer who presently plays for the Surrey County Cricket Club. Born on 9th February 1980 in Burnley, Lancashire, this right-handed batsman is an occasional offbreak bowler. He has also been associated with counties like Middlesex from 1999 t0 2004 and Hampshire from 2004 to 2008.
Michael Brown made his first-class debut for Middlesex in 1999. In four of the first-class appearances for the county, he scored 156 runs at a batting average of 36.41, including a top score of 98 runs. Brown moved to Hampshire county cricket club in 2004. In playing total sixty four first-class matches for them, he scored 3645 runs averaging 34.71.
On 3rd October 2008, Brown joined Surrey. His highest score so far for Surrey has been 120 runs. He announced on 12 January 2010 that he is planning to spend a 3 week spell in Trinidad and play for the Clico Preysal Sports Club. He wanted to use the opportunity as an additional training prior to the start of the upcoming County Cricket Championship. Surprisingly, he was not included in the Surrey line-up for the 2010 season.
He has played a total of 96 First Class matches till date in which he has scored 5273 runs at an average of 34.01.
