Stephen Parry
Stephen David Parry is a professional English Cricketer who presently plays for the Lancashire County Cricket Club. He was born on 12 January 1986 in Manchester. Primarily a slow left-arm bowler, Parry has the potential to prove himself as a handy lower order batsman.
Parry made a couple of appearances in Minor Counties Championship in the 2005 season. He also played for Cumberland in the MCCA Trophy.
Parry made his first-class debut in April 2007 in a match against Durham UCCE. He took five wickets in the second innings of the match, including the wicket of Christopher Paget. However, he couldn’t contribute whilst batting.
Just prior to the start of the 2010 season, Gary Keedy, an experienced spinner suffered an injury. This gave a chance to the spinners like Parry and Simon Kerrigan to be a part of Lancashire’s first-team. However, in place of Parry, Kerrigan was chosen in the four-day team and he secured a place in the side.
Nevertheless, after impressive performances in Twenty20 games for Lancashire Lightning in the 2010 season, he was chosen for the England Lions squad for a triangular series with West Indies A and India A. His debut for the Lions came with a victory on over India A on 8th of July. He grabbed 3 wickets in that match.
