A professional English cricketer, Karl Robert Brown was born on May 17 1988 in Atherton, Greater Manchester. He is a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler. Currently, he plays for the Lancashire County Cricket Club.
Brown has been associated with Lancashire since 2003 when he was just 15, He debuted for the Second XI team of Lancashire against Somerset Second XI. He has been a part of 12 Youth ODIs, scoring a highest score of 109 runs in one of the matches.
Karl Brown’s first-class debut came in a match against Durham University on 11th May 2006. He could only score 2 runs in the first and 32 runs in the second innings. This turned out to be the single match played by Brown for the first team of Lancashire that year. His List A debut came in 2007 against Worcestershire. He could only score one run in the match.
Brown struggled to have a regular place in the first team of Lancashire and played only 7 matches between 2006 and 2009 scoring 156 runs, including a top score of 40. He also made 5 one-day appearances, scoring 72 runs with a top score of 41. However, he was a regular top order batsman of the second team Lancashire which graduated to the finals of the 2nd XI Championship as well as the semi-finals of the 2nd XI Trophy.
Karl Brown was chosen as the Man of the Match trophy on twice for the Under-19s team of England.
