Liam Andrew Dawson is a professional English Cricketer who is presently signed by Hampshire county Cricket Club. He is also a part of the Under-19s team of England. Born on 1st March 1990 in Swindon, Wiltshire, this all-rounder performer, is an efficient right-handed batsman with a bowling style of slow left-arm orthodox.

Dawson started playing cricket at the age of three. At seven, he joined Goatacre and later moved to Chippenham Cricket Club in Wiltshire where he played his youth cricket. Soon he was spotted by Hampshire.

Liam became a regular player for Hampshire’s 2nd XI team and Wiltshire. In 2006, he got a call for the under-19s squad of England in their Malaysia tour in 2006-07. He exhibited an impressive performance during that tour with the wonderful figures of 6 wickets for 9 runs against Malaysia. He turned out to be the leading wicket-taker for the Under-19s team of England in their Test series against Pakistan in 2007.

At the end of 2007 season, Liam made appearances in 3 List A matches for Hampshire. Although he was unable to take any wicket, he managed to score a run-a-ball innings of 32 runs in his debut match. His first-class debut came in a match against Yorkshire on 19th September 2007.

Dawson was included in the England Lions squad in their New Zealand tour in January 2009. He was a part of Friends Provident Trophy winning team of Hampshire in 2009.

Subsequently,Dawson played 34 First- Class matches in which he has made 1613 runs at an average of 34.31 and has taken 17 wickets. He was awarded consecutively in 2007 and 2008 the NCB Compton Award.
