Monica Sumra
Monica Sumra, born on 14th October 1980 in Vidharba, is a professional cricketer who plays for the India Women’s National team. Other teams she has been a part of include Railways India Women, Mumbai Women and West Zone Women. This right-handed batsman, when needed, can also put on the wicket keeper’s gloves.
Monica made her international debut in a One Day International played against Australia Women’s National team on 24th December 2004. In fourteen ODIs she has played so far, Sumra has scored 304 runs at a batting average of 27.63. With a highest score of 63*, she has three half centuries to her credit. In total three Test matches, Monica has scored sixty one runs at an average of 10.16. Her highest score in test matches were 29 runs.
Monica was also included in a T20 International match played against England Women’s National team. Unfortunately, she did not get a chance to bat in this match. She has lots to offer to the Indian Women Cricket and has enough potential to perform at the highest level. She is a wonderful timer of the cricket ball with many shots in her armory.

Monica Sumra scored unbeaten 63 runs in a match played against Sri Lanka Women’s team in Karachi in January 2006. She also scored another half century in the same year with 62 runs against Ireland Women’s team in July 2006.
