Kieron Adrian Pollard is an international cricket player who plays for the team of West Indies. He is an aggressive all rounder offering medium fast pace bowling and big hitting from the middle order.
After playing for the Champions League Twenty20 in 2009, he was signed by both the Somerset and the Southern Redbacks for their domestic Twenty20 campaigns. He was known as the highest paid player in the IPL 2010, playing for the Mumbai Indians. For the 2011, he was retained as a part of the team. Presently, he is a part of the Mumbai Indians team to play for the 2012 IPL matches.
His impressive performance in the Champions League Twenty20 2009 and the Big Bash led him to being one of the most sought after players at the 2010 IPL auction. After his bidding, the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders bid the maximum, with 750,000 dollars and ultimately won by the Mumbai Indians.
Post his impressive performance at the IPL for the Mumbai Indians, this all rounder was picked for the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indian squad.
With right to domestic 2010 season, Pollard has had a very successful Friends Provident T20 in 2010 for Somerset team, helping the team to reach the finals. He scored 354 runs during the match at 32.18, the second highest batting average, which includes two half centuries at a strike rate of 175/24 runs per 100 balls.
