Sheila Nefdt
A former South African cricketer, Sheila Nefdt or Sheelagh Nefdt played international cricket in 1960-61. Earlier on, she had played first class cricket for Rhodesia women club the records of which are unknown. She was the captain for the South African women’s test cricket team that went in to play England in 1960-61.
In 1953-54, Nefdt played provincial cricket for the Western Province team and recorded the first hat trick in history of South African women’s test cricket in the form of a double hat trick. Western province won the Simon Trophy the same year which was a succession to the last two years.
Nefdt has played a total of only 4 test matches for her team scoring 211 runs off the. Her batting average is recorded at 30.14 and bowling average was 54. She had achieved her best bowling figures of 1 wicket for 16 runs. During her 4-match career, she has scored 2 half-centuries and taken a total of 2 wickets.
