Lyn Larsen
Lynette (Lyn) Ann Larsen was born in Lismore town of New South Wales in 1963. She is a former Australian women cricket player. She was also the captain for the Australian team from 1985-86 to 1993. During that time, she led the team through 10 test matches with Australia winning five of those.
She was a right-handed batsmen and a leg break bowler. She played 49 one day international matches during her career, scoring a total of 426 runs from them. Her batting average for one-day matches was 20.28 along with bowling averages of 31.79. She took a total of 24 wickets during her ODI career.
Her test match career was limited to only 15 test matches. She scored a total of 410 runs during that time at an average of 41. She dismissed 26 opponents during her test match career with her bowling averages of 18.73.
She was the captain of the Australian team in 27 one day international matched and led her team to victory for 27 of those matches, which stands a record for women’s cricket in Australia. She captained the Australian team in the Women’s World Cup in 1988 and won the trophy for her country.
She retired from test cricket in 1992 and from one day internationals in 1994.
