Roger Binny was a versatile all rounder. In 1983, while playing against Pakistan at Bangalore, he made a partnership of 155 runs for the 7th wicket with Madan Lal and rescued India. His share was of 83 not out runs. In 1986 at Headingly, he claimed 7 wickets and bowled India to triumph. While playing against Pakistan at Kolkata in 1987, he bowled an impressive spell of 4 for 9 in 30 deliveries and finished with his best Test figures of 6 for 56.

Undoubtedly, the most outstanding feats of Binny were in ODIs. More specifically, during the 1983 Cricket World Cup, he played the leading role by claiming 18 wickets which at that point of time was a record in this tournament. Binny was athletically built and tall. He was an attacking batsman who could either play in the middle order or in the top order. He was a medium pace bowler who could swing the ball in either direction.

Roger Binny appeared in 72 ODIs and bowled 2957 deliveries in these while giving away 2260 runs and claiming 77 wickets. His bowling average was 29.35, economy rate was 4.58 and bowling strike rate was 38.4. He scored 629 runs with 57 runs as her highest score. His batting average was 16.12 and batting strike rate was 60.13 and took 12 catches.
