The main teams that he has represented are Royal Bengal Tigers, India Under 19s, ICL India XI and Assam. Presently, he has been bought by Mumbai Indians to play for the IPL 5 season.
Fast bowlers like to perform in pairs and one such potent blend is in the form of Abu Nechim and Yo mahesh at the Under 19 level. In the previous World Cup, this duo shared 21 wickets between them. In the semi final, Nechim had figures of 4 for 14 and this was his 2nd 4 wicket haul in the championship during which he displayed effective movement under the Premadasa floodlights. Nechim is capable of swinging the delivery in both directions at good speed and even at present has good control with the white ball also. This art is to be mastered by experienced bowlers also.
