Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu bowls right arm offbreak and bats right handedly. He has played for teams like ICL India XI, Hyderabad Heroes, Baroda and Hyderabad (India). He was an active part of the Mumbai Indians IPL team in 2010 and in 2011 and has been retained by the same team to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.
Rayudu participated in a first class match between Hyderabad (India) and Gujarat at Hyderabad (Deccan) that was played from 9th to 12th December 2006. The venue for this match was Visaka International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.
Ambati Rayudu has participated in 70 first class matches and got the opportunity to bat in 113 innings. He accumulated 4179 runs at a batting average of 42.21. His highest score was 210. He clobbered 20 half centuries and 11 centuries, taking 53 catches. 9 batsmen were dismissed off the 660 balls that he bowled while conceding 431 runs. His bowling strike rate was 73.3, economy rate was 3.91 and bowling average was 47.88. Till date, Ambati played in 51 List A matches and 56 Twenty20 matches.
