Michael Bevan
Michael Bevan is currently the coach of Chennai Superstars team in the ICL. He has also represented Yorkshire, Tasmania, Sussex, South Australia, New South Wales, Leicestershire, Kent and Australia.
Bevan was consistently regarded as the best limited overs batsman in the world. For over a decade, he was a mandatory part of the one day roster. He specialized in playing in crisis situations that ended in last over or last ball heroics. When he retired from ODI cricket, he had 2 World Cup wins against his name. He played two extremely memorable innings – in 1996 at Sydney against West Indies and in 2002 at Melbourne against New Zeland. In both these matches, he exhibited nerveless batting which led to nail biting victories. The highlights of his game were running hard, finding the gaps and gauging the apt moment and place to strike a boundary. He was an efficient fielder and his left arm spin added to his credentials and permitted him to take part in Test matches as a batting allrounder.
