Sunny Sohal
Sunny Sohal is a professional cricket player born in Mohali, Punjab in 1987. This right handed batsman and an occasional leg spinner, made his first class debut in 2005 for the Punjab team against Hyderabad in Mohali. At present, he has been retained by the team of Deccan Chargers to play at the 2012 IPL season.
In one of the league matches of the North Zone Inter-State Cricket Tournament (Under-17), he scored an impressive century against Jammu and Kashmir. This was a match winning innings with a score of 132 that included 23 fours. In the same season, he was chosen for the India Under-19 squad that participated in the 2007 Under-19 World Cup that was organized in Malaysia. During this championship, while playing against Sri Lanka Under-19 squad on 13th February 2007, he performed a significant role for his team by accumulating 97 runs. This knock assisted India Under-19 to reach a challenging total and become victorious.
Sohal was a part of the team that contested the final and beat South Africa Under-19 to lift the World Cup. On 3rd April 2007, Sohal debuted in Twenty20 cricket while playing for Punjab against Haryana at Delhi.
In 2008, the Indian Premier League franchisee, Kings XI Punjab selected Sohal in their team. On 25th April 2008, when the Kings XI Punjab played against Mumbai Indians in the semi-final of the championship, Sohal was a part of the team.
