Gaurav Dhiman
Gaurag Dhiman can be mentioned as a one-man army. He is born with the capacity of turning a game, that too, single-handedly. The other teams to which he belonged once upon a time were Karnataka Under-19s, India Under-19s, and India Under-15s. Gaurav has been included in Mumbai Indians as an all-rounder. He operates with the right hand.
The only first-class match played by Gaurav so far is the one that was played between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka at Bangalore from 2nd of January, 2007 (Gaurav had played from Karnataka’s side). In the first innings, he was out on a duck. There was no necessity of batting in the second innings, as the top-order could easily chase the total. This is evident from the fact that Karnataka won this match by 10 wickets. However, in the matches played prior to this test, his records have been just unbelievable. One amongst these records was the score of ‘74’ in 56 balls against Caribbean’s in Under-19 World Cup.
Career Highlights
In 7 list A matches played so far, Gaurav has smashed 119 runs; with the highest score being ’94 not out’. The strike rate has also been quite good, i.e. 76.28. Now, he needs to prove his mettle in IPL.
