Vikrant Yeligati is one of the right-handed batsmen signed by Mumbai Indians in the year 2008. Apart from Mumbai Indians, Vikrant has also played for Mumbai, Mumbai Under-19s, and Mumbai Under-16s. He even bowls with the right hand. His bowling style is referred to as ‘Right-arm offbreak’.
The sole First-Class match played by Vikrant till date was that held at Karachi between Mumbai and Karachi Urban from 8th of September, 2007 onwards. This 4-day match had ended in a ‘draw’. In the first innings, Vikrant could capture 3 wickets; whereas in the second innings, a wicket could be obtained. IPL gave Vikrant an opportunity of playing Twenty20 matches. The latest match of this kind was played against Chennai Super Kings from 8th of September, 2007 onwards at Karachi. Chennai Super Kings had a nail-biting finish in this match; as they could win it by just 6 runs. Veligati couldn’t do much over here. Matthew Hayden was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’.
