Dhawal Sunil Kulkarni can be referred to as one of the team members of Mumbai Indians. He is also referred to as a ‘right-arm medium pacer’. The other teams to which Dhawal belongs include India A, Mumbai Cricket Association President’s XI, and Mumbai.
Dhawal got in to cricket at a very young age. This ‘right-arm medium pacer’ came into limelight following his performances with regards to ‘Mumbai under-17s’ in 2005-06 ‘Vijay Merchant Trophy. He kept on giving such splendid performances one-by-one and got selected by ‘Mumbai Indians’ franchise in IPL. The first match played by him on this count included the one held on 28th of May, 2008 against Bangalore Royal Challengers wherein Mumbai Indians managed to attain a 9-wicket victory. He, however, couldn’t do much in this match. Now, lovers of cricket are expecting something exceptional to come from Dhawal’s bat.
Career Highlights
In 12 First-Class matches played so far, Dhawal has 96 runs to his credit. The number of wickets taken by him is ‘49’. ’26 not out’ has been his highest score. His strike rate has also been quite appreciable, i.e. 35.03. In all, Dhawal has scored 14 boundaries in his first-class career till date. The number of balls bowled by him is 2007.
