Collins Obuya plays for Kenya cricket team and bowls legbreak and bats right handedly. He has also played for Warwickshire and Africa XI.
On 15th August 2001, Obuya played his debut One day International against West Indies at Nairobi. He bowled 5 overs, conceded 25 runs and could not take a single wicket. He scored 27 runs in 31 balls while batting at the No. 9 spot. West Indies won this match by 106 runs. Obuya played his first Twenty20 International on 1st September 2007 at Nairobi against Bangladesh. He remained unbeaten on 14 in 10 deliveries. Bangladesh won this match by 5 wickets with 14 deliveries remaining.
Obuya scored 700 runs in the 57 One day Internationals he played with 68 not out as his highest score. His batting strike rate was 67.37 and batting average was 18.42. He hit 9 sixers, 53 fours and 1 half century and took 23 catches. Obuya took part in 5 Twenty20 Internationals and scored 67 runs in these with 18 as the highest score. His batting average was 16.75 and strike rate was 100. He took 2 catches and hit 3 boundaries and 1 sixer. Although he did not bowl in Twenty20 Internationals, Obuya took 26 wickets in the 1423 balls he bowled in One day Internationals by conceding 1231 runs.
