Catherine Campbell
Catherine Campbell is a Right Arm offbreak bowler and a Left handed batsman with the New Zealand national women’s team. She has also played for the Canterbury ‘A’, Canterbury Women’s and the Otago Women’s teams.
Catherine Campbell made her debut in International cricket in a One day International match against the Netherlands Women’s team at Sydney in 1988. Campbell bowled 12 overs giving away just 27 runs and claimed the wickets of Anita van Lier, Vanda Wesenhagen and Dorine Loman. New Zealand went on to win the match by 210 runs. Two years later in 1990 she played her first test match against the Australia Women’s team at Auckland. Campbell bowled 44 overs in the first innings converting 11 of them into maiden overs. She gave away 106 runs and claimed the wickets of Katherine Raymont, Sally Griffiths and Chris Matthews. Coming to bat, she could only score 5 runs and got bowled to a ball by Andrea McCauley. In the second innings, Campbell bowled 7 overs and gave away 17 runs however could not claim a wicket. The match resulted in a draw.
