Eric Szwarczynski was initially an opening batsman but during the 2005 season began to play at the No. 3 spot more frequently. He is not a big hitter but has an excellent timing and was noticed by the Dutch national selectors mainly due to his consistency. His place of birth is South Africa but he has been a member of Netherlands A, Netherlands Under 23 and Netherlands.
