Ian Bishop
Ian Raphael Bishop is a former fast bowler who played for the West Indies. He was known as a potent cricketer who had a particular flair for outswing. However in 1991 he was pestered by severe back injuries. He recovered from this situation and got his bowling action amended to return back to form in 1992. Again in 1993 he was again bothered by injuries and could not return to play till the midst of 1995. Due to these happenings what looked like a tremendously promising career was considerably curtailed.
Bishop has played in just 43 Tests in which he could bowl 8407 deliveries and take 161 wickets at a bowling average of 24.27. His best bowling figures have been 6 for 40 and he has taken 5 wickets in one innings 6 times. He has taken 8 catches and scored 632 runs at a batting average of 12.15 top scoring at 48.
In the 84 One Day International matches that he has participated in, he could take 118 wickets in 4332 deliveries at a bowling average of 26.5. Bishop has taken 5 wickets in an innings twice with the best bowling figures of 5 for 25. He could take 12 catches and score 405 runs at a batting average of 16.19 with the top score of 33 not out.
