Shahid Nazir
Shahid Nazir is a right arm fast medium bowler and a right handed batsman with the Pakistan cricket team. He has also played for the Gujranwala Cricket Association, Habib Bank Limited, Faisalabad, National Bank of Pakistan, Northumberland and Lahore Badshahs cricket teams.
Nazir made his International debut in a One Day International match against England at Nottingham in 1996. Nazir claimed 2 wickets and gave away 47 runs in his 10 over spell. Pakistan won the match with just 2 balls remaining by 2 wickets. The very next month Nazir made his test debut with Azam Khan in a match against Zimbabwe at Sheikhupura where he claimed 5 wickets and gave away just 53 runs in 22.4 overs in the first innings. His batting was not impressive as he was caught out and dismissed for a duck. In the second innings he kept his rhythm and claimed 2 wickets in 19 overs giving away just 45 runs. The match was however drawn.
Nazir featured very sparingly in the Pakistani team and was dropped out in 1999. He returned to the team in 2006 for a tour to England, however was overshadowed by Umar Gul and Mohammad Asif. In 2008, he joined the Lahore Badshahs in the rebel Indian Cricket League.
In a total of 15 test matches, Nazir has scored 194 runs and claimed 36 wickets at an economy of 3.41 runs per over. He also has a total of 19 wickets at an economy of 4.80 runs per over in the 17 ODI matches that he played.
