Runako Shakur Morton is a right handed batsman and an occasional right arm offbreak bowler with the West Indies cricket team. He has played cricket for the Leeward Islands and Nevis teams as well.
Morton has been playing first class cricket since 1996. He made his debut in International cricket in 2002 in a One Day international match against Pakistan in Sharjah. Morton scored 16 runs in 29 balls before being bowled by Mohammad Sami. Pakistan won the match by 51 runs. In 2005, he made his debut in test cricket in a match against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Morton scored 43 in the first innings and got out on a duck in the second. Sri Lanka won the match by 6 wickets.
In the 2006 tour of West Indies to New Zealand, Morton scored his first test century. He also holds the infamous record of getting out on a duck after facing 31 balls. The shameful act occurred in the finals of the DLF Cup against Australia.
In a total of 56 one day International matches, Morton has scored 1519 runs with a strike rate of 66.36. He also has 573 runs in a total of 15 test matches he has played.
