Also known as Peter Ochieng, Peter Jimmy Carter Ongondo is a right arm medium fast bowler and a right handed batsman with the Kenyan cricket team.
Peter started playing first class cricket in 1999. The same year he made his International debut in a One day International match against South Africa at Nairobi. Peter bowled 4 overs and gave away just 10 runs. He also claimed his first catch, South African opener HH Dippenaar for 26 runs. South Africa, however won the match by 24 runs.
Peter was denied of opportunities as Kenya did not play much International cricket the following years until 2006. He had proved his worth with the new ball and soon became the front-man of the Kenyan balling attack. He was a part of the 2007 World Cup Kenyan team. He played his first Twenty20 International match against Bangladesh at Nairobi. Peter Ongondo claimed 2 wickets in the 4 overs giving away 21 runs. Peter was the highest wicket taker in the 2007 World Cricket League.
In a total of 79 One Day International matches, Peter Ongondo has scored 391 runs and claimed 78 wickets with an economy of 4.54 runs per over.
