Hamish Marshall
Hamish Marshall is a middle order Right handed batsman and a Right arm medium bowler playing with the New Zealand National team. Hamish's identical twin brother James Marshall also plays with the New Zealand team and they are the former identical pair in cricket. Hamish Marshall is strong on the square of the wicket with good ability to cut the ball and play it late. His running between the wickets is also good. Many a times Cricket commentators got confused when both the twin brothers were at the wicket together.
Hamish made his debut in test cricket against South Africa in 2000, after which he did not get to be a part of the National team until 2003. In 2003 when New Zealand toured Pakistan, Hamish scored an impressive 101 not out in the third one day game, which is his highest one day score and helped New Zealand win the series. He also assisted his team win the one day series against South Africa in the 2003-04 South Africa tour of New Zealand.
In 2004 he was rightfully selected for the NatWest series which was played in England. In the final match of the series, he scored 44 runs helping the Black Caps to win over West Indies and win the NatWest series.
In 2005, Hamish scored 146 runs in a match against Australia, his first test century. He went on to score 160 runs when he played against Sri Lanka which remains his top score in a test match.
Marshall has also played first class cricket for Northland club and represented the club in the Hawke Cup in New Zealand. After playing the World Cup in 2007 for New Zealand, Marshall choose to play for the Gloucestershire Club in England declining a contract with New Zealand.
In October 2010, Hamish used his Ireland passport to play for the Ireland National Team in the ODIs.
In his career total of 66 One Day Internationals, Hamish has scored a total of 1454 runs averaging at 27.43.
