Marchant de Lange is a professional South African cricket player, a tail end right handed batsman and also a right arm fast bowler. Nicknamed as Langy, Chant and also as Chana, Marchant played for teams like Titans and Easterns. At present, he has been bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders to play at the IPL 5 season.
He was called up to the squad of the South African cricket team and had little first class experience for the series against the team of Sri Lanka. He was drafted to replace Vernon Philander, in the second test match held against Sri Lanka, with figures of 8/126 in test debut and 7/81 in the Sri Lankan first innings.
