Darren Michael Bravo is a professional West Indian cricket player who plays domestic cricket for Trinidad and Tobago team other than the West Indies Cricket Team in ODI and test cricket matches. Darren is a left handed batsman known for his slow focused and determined way of batting style similar to Brain Lara. As a matter of fact, Brain’s mother and Bravo’s mother are first cousins. Presently, he will be playing for the Deccan Chargers at the IPL 5 season 2012.
Born in 1988 in Trinidad and Tobago, Darren has been selected to play for the Deccan Chargers for IPL 2012. His debut was in January 2007, when he scored 7 runs in a one day match held against Guyana team. His first class debut was three days later against the Windward Islands team, with 8 runs. Since 2006-07 season, he however, didn’t make any appearances in the matches. He returned to the U-19 team for the TCL challenge and finished this match as the leading run scorer, in five matches scoring 419 runs at an average of 59.85.
So far, Darren has played in 13 test matches, scoring total of 1155 runs with a batting average of 52.50. His top score was 195. Of the total 39 ODI matches, he scored 904 runs with an average of 29.16 runs. Darren played in 39 first class matches and in 65 List A cricket matches. This occasional wicket keeper skill would be a thrilling experience to watch at the IPL 5 matches.
